Our Processes

  • Lost wax casting is a precise method where a wax copy of the glass object is made and covered in a heat-resistant material like plaster. The wax is melted away, leaving a hollow space. Then, molten glass is poured or placed as solid pieces in the mold, which is heated to about 800°C until the glass melts, creating detailed and complex shapes.

  • Kiln-formed glass encompasses techniques like fusing and slumping, where glass is heated in a kiln to specific temperatures. Fusing involves joining pieces of glass together by heat, while slumping involves allowing glass to melt and settle into a mould or over a form. These techniques allow for creative color combinations and sculptural forms.

  • Yes! We work with various glass types and colors. Additives and colorants can be included during the glassmaking process depending on the desired properties and appearance. We can also use specialized glass types like dichroic glass and uranium glass for unique visual effects.
